This unique profile was based on a Group of Seven frame. The gilded surface has a palladium leaf on a black clay base; the leaf has been burnished with an agate stone to reveal a highly reflective surface. The gray tone of the frame is a painted surface on gessoed wood to reflect the colours within the watercolour.
